It is not a fact unknown that as a human being – especially a woman – progresses through the tides of time, our body undergoes a myriad of extreme physical, anatomical and physiological changes.
The most number of changes in the body happen when a person reaches their ‘mature’ years.
Ayurveda describes this period in a woman’s life as ‘Adhirudha’ - from the age of 33 to 55 years. However, if there’s one thing that’s constant and imminent in everyone lives, that’s ‘Change’.
While most of them are good, some of them bring in negative impacts too. And as we go through this legion of good and bad changes, the bodily organ that takes most of the brunt is SKIN – the largest organ of our body!
And as a woman, the tides of changes that one goes through are moderately higher!
Pregnancy, medical or cosmetic procedures, weight gain and weight loss, increased stress during pre- and post-menopausal stage... and the list goes on!
And as these inevitable changes happen, our skin, in its own way, resists in pursuit of self-preservation from the unknown.
But Ayurveda has a reprieve, fortunately – and the solution lies in MOISTURISING WITH TENDER LOVE!
How so, you ask?
You see, as a woman goes through various stages of her life, her skin may stretch or loosen depending on the kind of change. This intense expansion and reduction deprive the skin of its deep moisture. What it needs is an intense moisturising agent.
And what better moisturiser than TAVASMA -a targeted body oil rich in Balamoola supporting all the 3 doshas with Sesame Oil as its base that is known to be a star moisturiser in the books of Ayurveda! Tavasma’s light, unctuous nature allow it to deeply moisturise skin without leaving an oily or sticky feeling behind.
Rich in Balamoola, Stone Apple and 26 Other Ayurvedic Herbs
Soothe and moisturise skin especially before and after major body altering events
Tavasma is a supreme moisturiser rich in ‘Balamoola’ or Sida Cordifolia that is known to balance all three doshas!
Its light, unctuous yet absorbent properties combined with its visible effect for rejuvenation and improving the look of your skin’s texture and glow catches attention in the world of Ayurvedic formulations!
Tavasma’s formulation honors the God of medicine, whom ancient Indian scriptures mention as the father of Ayurveda. He is believed, according to Indian mythology, to have emerged from the milky ocean carrying the nectar of immortality.
Drawing from this beautiful and popular belief, our body is like an Ocean full of possibilities. Like the poisons and toxins that can pollute this large water body, natural changes disrupt the balance of the Vata and Kapha Doshas in our body. However, Tavasma is like the Nectar that contain within it the power to embrace change and bring Vata and Kapha Doshas back into balance!

"Since I know the ingredients and am committed to non-toxic health solutions, I decided to try [the oil] over ... last winter. I tried it on my knees, lower back and neck / shoulder with a definite reduction in discomfort and stiffness .... Good consistency for the massage - moisturizing but not oily. Still used as a targeted oil"

What does Ayurveda say about ‘Change’?
Have you seen/heard about bees gathering pollen from thousands of different flowers for the purpose of creating honey to keep their hive running?
Ojas is somewhat similar. It is the essence of all bodily tissues or ‘Dhatus’. Created through the proper digestive functions, Ojas directly relates to Vitality.
When a body is pushed beyond its limits – its normal range of functions – the balance of Ojas disrupts leading to low energy, fatigue, various diseases, dull and non-lively look of the skin and sunken-looking eyes etc.
Even something as slight as overworking, lack of sleep, poor diet, over-exercising, stress etc can lead to a hampering of the balance of Ojas!
One of the major ‘Dhatus’ or bodily tissues that affected when Ojas is misbalanced is ‘Mamsa Dhatu’. Mamsa, meaning ‘flesh’ or ‘meat’ refers to muscles and ligaments in the skin.
Additionally, a vitiation of the Vata Dosha within the Mamsa Dhatu results in a low pain-threshold and high pain sensitivity.
For a misbalanced Mamsa Dhatu, some of the herbs that Ayurveda prescribes are Amalaki, Ashwagandha, Bala and Shatavari.
And guess what..? Tavasma contains each and every one of them along with some other potent Ayurvedic herbs!
For the same reason, Ayurveda recommends engaging in a comprehensive, all-engaging self-massage session, once daily, to nourish and purify the lymph, improves movement of ‘Rasa Dhatu’ and ground the Vata Dosha in the nervous system - with pure, organic, herbal-infused oils to knead and ground Vata Dosha, and keep the skin feeling smooth, moisturized and healthy!
It’s time we embrace this wholesome ritual once again.
